Hey friends!! Well I kinda missed the mark here being prepared to tell you all about my long weekend.
I'll say that it started off kinda rough, like crying rough but it ended with giggles, smiles, joy and guns!
Can you believe little Shannon, likes...ok kinda LOVES to shoot guns!
I think it might be my new fav. thing!

Sunday Jay and I were at a big BBQ that my parents were having out at their place.
There were lots of people there and shooting guns was on the agenda.
It's really cool that they have the space to be able to shot whenever they feel like it,
and safety is always on the top of priorities whenever this is done so it's a pretty cool thing.

Well I have been wanting to get my time with a handgun for a while now.
As a few of us girls were watching the shooting one of the guys asked if any of us felt like shooting.
I guess my smile couldn't help but giveaway that I really wanted to!
So I walked on up, had a lesson on how to shoot the thing and went for it!
It was kinda amazing!
and in the words my son would be likely to use in regards to my shooting,
I kinda shot like a boss!
Which just in case you don't know...being a boss anything is good!

So all that aside let me just tell you somethin...what's truly amazing is this...
the guy showing me how to load a shotgun!
This is my step dad. I shared with you in this post about how we've decided to leave the step part out of our relationship and just go more for the dad thing...Well can I just tell you having a dad is cool. I'm not joking. I mean even into your adult life you still need one right? I know I do...especially now, and I've got one. He's the one who will pat my shoulder or pull me in for a hug when I'm just broken and have nothing left in me. He'll be the one to look at me and tell me "its going to be alright" He's the one who I can hear his heart for me through his words. I don't know about you...but to me that's a pretty big deal.
Now let me tell you why this guy is rad when it comes to my son.
He invests that golden thing called TIME.

Are you wondering what the hell that thing that my son is riding on? That would be "Chappy" Now Chappy has been in my step dad's family since like the beginning of time. Secretly I've always wanted to take Chappy out but I think I've kinda been afraid of the thing. I mean it looks like a total speed machine right?! Well last weekend I tackled Chappy and riding that silly old bike made me sooo happy. LIKE SOOO HAPPY!
I am surprised that I didn't get bugs in my teeth because I was smiling so large the whole time I was riding!

So here we are ending out the evening with what other than....rifle shooting!

At this point in life I am reaching for and embracing all those things that make me feel joy,
bring me laughter and my own sense of adventure!
