{Swoon, a peek at the photo shoot Jay and I had a few weeks ago. This amazing photographer captured us perfectly!}
So yesterday was Mothers Day, so I'm assuming that's what most of blogland is going to be chatting about today.
Sunday morning I woke up and thought about blogging...and I thought, "well I'm not going to have too much to say on the topic today", which I was fine with. Last week Jay and I talked about Mothers Day and I told him that he treats me so well I don't look at Mothers Day with the hope that maybe he'll do something nice for me because of what day it just happens to be. He is truly wonderful to me each day.
{recently I went out for a quick neighborhood walk and came home to this..for no particular reason!}
So back to that talk that Jay and I had last week about Mothers Day. That talk actually included a minor "fight". Jay had asked me randomly if I would leave him at home alone which I thought was very strange because that's not typically something that happens. When he asked that I replied with a "nooo, and that sounds kinda fishy to me!" He responded back in an irritated tone that because I would not be leaving him at home alone he would not be able to make me a mothers day present, and he let me know he had something really amazing planned and that it was now my fault that I would not be receiving this wonderful gift! I tried the whole, "I'll forget you said you'd make me anything" but he was not convinced and let me know once again that it was my fault I would not be recieving a mothers day present. I left it at that.
Sunday around 9 I heard some rustling in the bedroom, so I popped my head in and noticed Jay was getting something out of his drawer. I decided to let him be....He came out to me and said Happy Mothers Day, and handed me a card and a coupon book.
My heart melted!
My 8 year old son had prepared days in advance,on his own for mothers day! He had also tricked me!!
I was not expecting anything from him, but when I saw that he had prepared something for me on his own time, I just lost it! I had to look at Jay and let him know my tears were happy tears and he had blessed me soo much! I took him to the couch to sit down so we could look at his goodies together. I now have coupons for free breakfasts and kisses...not too many better gifts in the world than that!
Sunday afternoon I got another "seriously!" present for mothers day.
I haven't shared too many details about how Jay and I came to be staying in the guest house we currently are, but let me just tell you that the people who have opened it up to us are some of THE BEST people I have encountered, EVERRR!!! Sunday afternoon after getting home Jay was out playing in the yard and came in a bit later carrying these.
They are from the family who are letting us stay in their guest house.
Once again, heart melt!
It feels so amazing to feel true love and goodness of people. It's overwhelming, in a heart explosion type of way! It's encouraging and it's inspiring!
