Hellllllllo friends! How's it goin?!
Lately I've been thinking about me....and thinking about you all. I think many of you who hang out with me here are married and if you were like me kinda out of the loop with that whole "single life" thing. As we get older I think it might be less common for us to have single friends because many are married by their mid 20's to 30's. Wellllll, enter Miss Shannon...that single chick, So today I thought I'd share something that I've learned recently due to some interaction with the unmarried male population lately.
Now, I haven't held up my "I'm now available sign"
but word is getting around, and people are noticing that I do not wear a wedding ring.
{and let me just tell you I have accumulated some "stories" already...wowza!}
{and let me just tell you I have accumulated some "stories" already...wowza!}
So during this new time I've discovered that yes, you can, and should be particular about which men you're going to talk with, but there are also ones that sneak in outta nowhere sometimes, men that you turn around and you're like where did you come from!?!....this last statement is the reason for such blog post.
While realizing just how silly some men are...I've gained such an appreciation for us women, and what a value we truly are! Lemme explain!
Ok, so not once but twice recently I have been referred to as "a pretty girl" In my past this would have been a wonderful compliment...but these days, it's pretty irritating, and in actuality an incorrect statement.
You see I am not a pretty girl.....
Now it took me quite a while to shed that girl skin, but I in fact have, and would now call myself a woman.
There lies the major difference...one word. The word girl, vs. woman.
Here's the way I see it....you're either a pretty girl, or a beautiful woman.
The answer to which category someone falls into can easily be seen by the way they choose to live their life, the choices they choose to make, where they're headed and what lies in their heart. The proof is really in the pudding..If you're smart, it shouldn't take you long to see which category someone falls into.
There is a big, like I mean HUGE difference between a pretty girl and a beautiful woman, in fact they are completely worlds apart.
In my book
beautiful woman > pretty girl
So if you're rocking your beautiful woman status, seriously high five for you! I have a feeling that all of you are! Isn't it such a great thing to just own who you are, know what you're about and be confident in your heart, your choices and how you conduct yourself!?! Beautiful women are truly such a treasure, a necessity. We provide rest, because our heart is at rest and our heart is at rest because we make right choices and are confident in them. We own our identities instead of them being handed to us by the world. We've worked on our hearts, they're pointed in the right directions and towards what truly matters. We choose, we're the bosses, we know what we want...it's the most powerful yet peaceful thing.
A woman like this is artful. She's beauty just in the way she lives her life.
Where this comes in with men is sadly I think some have not learned this yet and haven't discovered there is indeed a difference. With the gap between pretty girl and beautiful woman being so large there are major adjustments that need to be made in order for said man to properly attract the likes of said woman.
Sadly when said man doesn't realize this he comes off looking extremely silly and gets nowhere quickly.
So said man gets politely informed of what class of woman you fall under and said man disappears as fast as he appeared. Now this is a relief that said man is indeed gone, but it also leaves you with a slight bad taste in your mouth by having to interact with such silliness!
